Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Location: Slough

Salary: up to £44,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent

The Role

Our client is currently looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer, they are a market leading manufacturer of food products. The successful candidate should have an electrical bias, due to a highly automated, state of the art manufacturing environment. This position is a set morning shift (6:00-15:00) and is a Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday shifts.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To handle electrical issues to highest possible standard, as well as ensuring a pro-active approach to PPM.
  • To oversee installation, maintenance, and commissioning of machinery whilst maintaining a close collaboration with production and other departments.
  • To be able to maintain the cleanliness of site by adhering to routine engineers' toolbox checks.
  • To identify opportunities for improvement in equipment performance and reliability.
  • To be able to utilise CMMS system effectively for recording and fault resolution.
  • To develop contingency plans for electrical system failures and to contribute to the development of emergency response procedures.

The Candidate

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field.
  • Ideally a proven track record in a similar role in food manufacturing/FMCG.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and automation technology is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practises.
