Electrical Biased Maintenance Engineer required for one of the region's largest fresh food producers
The facility has just had a £30 Million upgrade with additional upgrades and improvements pencilled in for later this year
You'll be working in a strong team compromising of Engineering Manager 2 Supervisors and 11 Shift Engineers
You will be required on a shift basis 4 on 4 off
Qualifications
Recognised Electrical Qualification (C&G, NVQ, BTEC, HNC, HND etc)
Experience of working in FMCG/fresh produce/food environment
Able to read and update electrical/mechanical drawings
The ability to work within all necessary H&S legislation (e.g. SSOW, COSHH)
Use of TPM/RCM/RCA principles to drive improvements in performance
Plc experience (Siemens/Mitsubishi)
Fabrication experience (including welding)
Electrical installation experience
Safety qualification (IOSH)
18th Edition IEE (BS7671)
Duties
To ensure all electrical equipment is maintained to guarantee person and operator safety
To assist the Head of Engineering/Shift Leader to plan work and systems so that the equipment/machinery is maintained to agreed standards and within agreed timescales
To ensure the correct procedure is followed when ordering and replacing equipment
To ensure all records are kept up to date, engineering Database, engineering work sheets and permits to work
Assist the Head of Engineering/Shift Leader with coaching and training of staff ensuring that correct techniques and procedures are followed
Ensure our safety image is reflected positively through your actions
Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose
Ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of control
To ensure that equipment and machinery breakdowns are efficiently rectified to ensure maximum equipment uptime
To maintain all metering measuring points to ensure accurate recorded and measured through the weekly utility report
Adherence with all Company Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. To ensure full co-operation in all aspects of HSE and to act positively on any failings or weaknesses in our systems or procedures, identified by yourself or brought to your attention
Work cross functionally with teams in the organisation to identify and systematically solve problems, share knowledge to build on our values and the Engineering/manufacturing strategic plan
Seek to investigate innovative methods of improving the performance of our technology, Site and energy savings through break through thinking and application of innovative preventative maintenance techniques
Supporting and action of "Root cause" activities in problem solving and process improvement whilst coaching teams on required methods of problem solving
Ensure that the maximum optimisation of machines is achieved through engineering CI and the reduction in breakdowns and minor stoppages.
