We are currently recruiting for a Weekend PPM Engineer to join a leading food manufacturer at their site near York.

As a Maintenance Engineer covering weekends on-site you will be responsible for the completion of planned maintenance – with a goal of limiting the need for reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • To complete planned maintenance activities.
  • To strive for engineering excellence
  • To ensure compliance with quality processes
  • To proactively identify, report and solve concerns across the site to help drive improvement
  • To record all activity through departmental systems, helping to support proactive working and traceability
  • To generate follow on work orders and parts requests where necessary
  • To maintain high standards of hygiene and Health & Safety
  • To maintain compliance with SOP's, Risk Assessments, and Permit to work systems

What we are looking for:

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer – ideally gained within a food manufacturing or an FMCG environment.
  • Prior experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Competent at completing reactive and planned maintenance within a fast moving, pressurised, manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with other internal staff and external contractors to understand faults within the machinery.
  • Comfortable working in a food environment.

Desirable

  • Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ / BTEC / HNC / City & Guilds etc.) / Time Served Apprenticeship (preferably manufacturing).
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering including PLCs, control panels, single & three phase, installations etc.
  • 17th Edition / 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary, circa £40,000 (dependent on skills and experience) plus benefits.
