Maintenance Engineer
London SW7
£30,000 plus benefits

Maintenance Engineer in London neded as an excellent opportunity is available within a prestigious independent college known for its exceptional reputation in the UK. The institution features diverse event spaces, including a large Event Hall for up to 250 attendees and smaller meeting rooms for breakout sessions, conferences, training sessions, or interviews.

Responsibilities:

  • Facility Maintenance:

    • Perform regular and time-sensitive maintenance tasks.
    • Address routine and emergency maintenance issues promptly.
    • Conduct inspections to identify and resolve maintenance needs and safety hazards.
    • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
  • Contractor Coordination:

    • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
    • Ensure quality and performance supervision of contractors.
  • Health & Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Maintain accurate records for health and safety, maintenance, and statutory compliance.
    • Stay updated on current legislation and changes in health and safety, fire prevention, and other compliance areas.
    • Carry out and supervise water hygiene tasks.
  • Building Management:

    • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to implement best practices in building management and operations.
    • Ensure the building meets high standards of cleanliness and positively contributes to the institution's brand.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and minimize wastage and environmental impact.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in maintenance, preferably in a commercial or educational environment.
  • Practical skills to undertake minor repairs; extensive experience in one or more trades is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and contractors.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.

This role requires a proactive individual who can maintain the institution's facilities to a high standard, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all users.
