Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join their team on a luxury residential estate based in East London. The Handyperson is responsible for helping to deliver a flawless resident experience. An exceptionally high level of customer service and ability to engage with a variety of projects is required to ensure that high presentation of the development is achieved.

Hours: Monday to Friday - 09:00am - 17:30pm

Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 pa

Main Duties:

  • Provide a professional, efficient, and approachable handyperson service always maintaining an elevated level of customer service to residents and visitors.
  • Conduct works internal to common areas of the estate as well as apartments as directed.
  • Survey the Estate and inspect touch points and fabric areas to ensure a thorough inspection of buildings, equipment, and access points.
  • Ensuring that the service at the development is professionally, effectively, and sensitively delivered in compliance with the managing agent's agreed standards.
  • Actively maintain the confidentiality of information to which the site's estates staff will be privy, be this around individuals or security sensitive information in relation to the development and using appropriate language.
  • Complete a variety of tasks related to maintenance of resident spaces, including troubleshooting and light repairs - plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning, structural features.
  • Perform handyman fabric repairs to a high-level finish in resident apartments and communal spaces. Including furniture, doors, windows, and other hardware.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area while completing tasks related to maintenance, repair, or installation.
  • Report any inappropriate levels of Health and Safety or dangerous acts to the Development Manager. If major H&S breaches are identified immediate instructions for the activity to temporarily cease, until formally reviewed, should be issued to prevent personal injury, damage to property or a contravention to site policy, regulation and / or legislation.
  • Provide support in an emergency or evacuation situation, in a calm and professional manner. Actively provide information to any emergency services when requested to do so, robustly assisting the Development Manager.
  • Ensure and regularly check that fire exit doors and routes are maintained free of obstructions, reporting any defects or maintenance issues as appropriate.
  • Prevent damage to the development by reporting irregularities and deterring such acts by reporting to the security team.
  • Maintain all handyperson related equipment and working areas to a high standard of cleanliness and safety, ensuring all defects are reported.

Person Specification:

  • Competency in fabric repairs and general maintenance.
  • Previous multi trade experience.
  • Competency with hand tools and power tools
  • Microsoft office packages
  • Friendly, approachable and trustworthy
  • Report writing
  • Recognised qualifications
  • Use of PDA's and other devices
