Thera South West has an exciting opportunity available for a Male Support Worker to join our team in Dawlish. You will join us on a permanent basis, with full time, part time and relief hours available. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £12.33 per hour.

About the role:

Your role will involve assisting a young gentleman in his own home, making a profound impact to his life, assisting in daily activities, and promoting independence. To thrive in this role, we are looking for individuals who are empathetic, patient, adaptable and very active as this young man requires lots of stimulation during the day. The young gentleman has his own vehicle to explore the beautiful coastline and countryside, so a driver is essential. Experience in the care sector is advantageous or an understanding of “positive support”, but not essential, above all, we value a genuine passion for making a positive difference. This role is working weekends and paid sleep ins on a rota system.

What do you need to become our Male Support Worker?

  • No previous experience or qualifications required, Free, Skills for Care endorsed full training will be provided
  • Compassionate, caring, confident and resilient
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, with a high level of motivation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confident, articulate, and professional
  • Keenness to learn in a fast-paced environment and creatively solve problems
  • Desire to embrace our values and vision and have fun!
