Working with a Private Equity backed luxury goods manufacturer that is undergoing a period of major international expansion.


Role brief

The successful candidate will report to the Group Finance Director and be responsible for the day-to-day management accounting responsibilities and producing management accounts for the UK business and supporting some international entities, where necessary. One of the key aspects of this role will be to ‘hands on’ deliver the production of the monthly accounts offering insightful commentary and analysis to showcase potential issues and improvements.


This role would suit someone with good experience in the day-to-day transactional duties, experience producing Management Accounts, and a clear understanding of the business difference in adding value, BI and MI delivered from the data.


Main duties and responsibilities


  • Reporting to the Group Finance Director, preparing and delivering the month end accounts, P&L, Cashflow, Balance sheet, developing and delivering functional leadership team requirements and business KPI's
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Preparation of the group sales report
  • Preparation of the Accruals and Prepayments of Subsidiaries
  • Preparation of the VAT return for review
  • Population of monthly Management Information Packs in excel
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation and resolution
  • Posting of Employment cost journals
  • Daily, weekly, period Banking
  • Payroll supervision and responsibility for on time, accurate completion, checking and BACS commitment along with HMRC filing requirements
  • Completion of annual Audit deliverables pack along with ongoing timely information requirements during audit process – Q1 each year
  • Ownership of Standard cost model and use to derive monthly cost of sales
  • Annual stocktake management and coordination with the UK operations team
  • Providing support in a variety of financial projects
  • Assist the Group Finance Director and FP&A with audit queries during year end processes
  • Foster and develop excellent working relationships with other members of the finance team and wider commercial and operational functions of the business
  • As a team and on an individual basis, seek to continuously develop current processes and systems
  • Assist in day-to-day financial activity for the wider group including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
  • Preparation of year end statutory accounts audit packs
  • Ensuring all recharges to other group companies are made and daily bank management
  • Ensuring all transactions are managed for each business - small volume of invoicing
  • Updating debtors list to ensure cash is collected effectively
  • Monthly consolidations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Providing support to Group FD and FP&A as required on various projects
  • Ad hoc work as requested by Directors
  • Any other Ad hoc duties as required by Management


Role Requirements


  • You will ideally be a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ICA) with a recognised accountancy qualification, however Part Qualified/QBE may be considered. Experience in manufacturing operations is essential, experience with a multi-currency is desirable but not essential

  • Significant experience in the preparation of monthly management reporting
  • Practical knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and P&L is essential
  • Confident in dealing with people at all levels, and the ability to build strong relationships
  • You must be able to demonstrate success in a similar role
  • Experience with Sage 300 an advantage, although training will be given. MS Dynamics experience will also prove be useful
