An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team in Blackburn. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £47,000 and the chance to work within an industry-leading organisation. The successful candidate will be part of the Country Finance Team, responsible for producing monthly management accounts, assisting in year-end audits, and supporting with project work.

What you'll do:

As a Management Accountant, your primary responsibility will be producing monthly management accounts and assisting in year-end audits. You will also be tasked with developing robust processes and controls to ensure risks are managed appropriately. Your role will involve working closely with the commercial finance team, providing them with vital information and performance analysis. Additionally, you will manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring timely postings on asset acquisition or disposal. Your ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities will be crucial in this role.

  • Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are prepared on a monthly basis
  • Production and posting of key journals including accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income
  • Support the commercial finance team with information and performance analysis
  • Develop robust processes and controls to manage risks appropriately
  • Assist in the production of accurate monthly and quarterly flash results
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register and ensure timely postings on acquisition/disposal of assets
  • Work with Transaction Services (AP/AR/Banking) to facilitate a smooth month-end process

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position is a part-qualified accountant or someone qualified by experience. You should have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Your ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively to changing priorities will be essential in this role. A willingness to learn new skills and processes is also highly desirable. Above all, we're looking for a team player who can collaborate effectively with others.
