We're looking for high calibre Managers, with exceptional leadership skills and proven track record of delivering tangible results from complex Change and Transformation initiatives at Top Tier Global Banking institutions, leveraging modern technologies and through partnerships within the financial services ecosystem.

The opportunity

The Banking Design and Transformation team brings together a deep knowledge of industry trends and strong execution experienceto help our clients develop and execute their transformation agendas and deliver on strategic business objectives.

We specialise in designing better banking businesses serving clients across retail banking, commercial banking, payments, and cards. Our clients are facing increasing pressure from regulators to improve customer outcomes and reduce systemic risk; from shareholders to improve returns through improved efficiency and reduce cost; and from customers to deliver seamless, digital and customer-friendly services which match those they experience in other sectors and being offered by traditional and new, often fully digital, competitors.

As a Manager in our team, you will focus on operationalisation of strategy, purpose and customer experience through transforming business architecture, informing the implementation of new technology and improving cost effectiveness and efficiency. These are pivotal roles at the heart of our business The work we do is big - big in scale, big in goal and big in impact. You will draw from your breadth of skills and experience to help clients transform their businesses. You will help manage multi-disciplinary teams to collectively solve some of the toughest problems for the biggest brands. You will also support managing and developing client relationships.

Your key responsibilities

We are looking for people who can deliver high quality results on business design and transformation opportunities, shaping and owning workstreams, detailed analysis and design, manage teams as well as implement practical and innovative solutions to address our clients' challenges. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement new or enhanced operating models within a specific function or enterprise wide
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities across an entire organisation or within a specific function
  • Contributing and/or leading on process re-engineering initiatives that result in real benefits to the client both financially and from a compliance point of view
  • Work with our clients who are in the process of merging or de-merging (including carve outs) to ensure their operation functions going forward
  • Draw on your knowledge and experience to create innovative solutions, adapting methods and practices to consistently drive high-quality outcomes for our clients
  • Help manage our diverse teams to support their development, career aspirations and wellbeing as they share their career journeys with us at EY
  • Help develop our business by supporting sales activities and leveraging their own networks and contact
Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for candidates at Manager level. All the above responsibilities apply to all grades at different level of depth. Specific responsibilities for theManagergrade are:
  • Work with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers across a range of disciplines to deliver on business transformation opportunities and identifying new opportunities to support our clients with their transformation agendas
  • Lead workstreams on client assignments either standalone or as part of a larger team
  • Networking to develop long-term trusted relationships
  • Supporting proposals and bid teams
  • Liaising with service line teams, functional specialists and area Partners
  • Enhance skills that will help developEY's business
  • Pro-actively support the people agenda including counselling of junior colleagues, performance management and people management
To qualify for the role, you must have some or all of the following:
  • Extensive experience in managing a team, consulting, architecture or a comparable field, ideally 4+ years consulting experience
  • Deep Banking (Retail and / or Commercial) experience ideally with a focus on front to back digitisation of products including Lending, Cards & Payments
  • Experience in business architecture, operating model design, process design and cost reduction
  • Experience in technology enabled transformation
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Experience in managing teams and managing complex project delivery
  • Ability to help structure and manage complex work streams and/or entireengagements
  • Ability to build effective, long-lasting relationships with clients
  • Strong affinity with core disciplines interfacing with Transformation including Agile and Design Thinking
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with an ability to present robust, evidence-based solutions to clients succinctly and creatively
  • Excellent problem-solving and structured thinking skills, able to generate insight and committed to delivering high-quality solutions
  • Possess an analytical and logical mindset, with an aptitude for identifying and articulating the reasoning behind your recommendations
