Are you a savvy buyer with a knack for technical procurement and a background in mechanical engineering?
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Buyer to join a forward-thinking company that excels in project-based manufacturing. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering processes.
 
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead supplier selection and development, ensuring suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers to assess technical requirements and manage supplier accounts on the company ERP system.
  • Monitor costs and budgets, communicate discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of materials in line with production targets.
  • Liaise with various departments to keep everyone informed about supply statuses and resolve any invoice queries.
  • Identify new suppliers and methods to enhance the company’s purchasing and stock control processes.
  • Contribute to cost reduction, product development, and process improvement projects.
What They’re Looking For:
  • Experience in a manufacturing-based purchasing role with a good grasp of mechanical and electrical processes.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Competence in interpreting engineering CAD drawings and excellent computer skills.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach and the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
Optional but beneficial: CIPS certification or an engineering-related qualification.
