Are you looking to advance your career in the exciting world of events or marketing? Do you want to work on a portfolio of international events, while making a meaningful impact on global sustainability? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Assistant to join our team at Rethink Events.

Rethink Events creates and delivers international business conferences that promote new technologies in sustainable agriculture, food, water and materials. Based in our Brighton office, as our Marketing Assistant, you will support the team in the promotion and running of our international business summits.

What you'll be doing:

  • Uploading new content to the event websites, including blog posts, images, and agendas.
  • Editing photos and biographies to match our company style.
  • Proofreading and checking all websites regularly to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
  • Keeping up to date with SEO, web analytics, and tools, and implementing improvements.
  • Creating graphics and editing videos in Canva for use in email campaigns and social media.
  • Liaising with external graphic designers as needed for graphic templates and brochure updates.
  • Supporting our social media campaigns by monitoring industry news and partner/influencer activity, gathering internal news from the team, writing, and scheduling content.
  • Assembling content for brochures, programs, and web stories, following up with speakers and sponsors by telephone where needed.
  • Coordinating and reporting on activities with marketing and media partners to amplify noise before the event.
  • Issuing press invitations to journalists and following up on post-event articles.
  • Gathering data from relevant associations and competitor events to build our internal database.
  • Helping to run events on the day as a key part of the event team.

What you'll need:

  • Excellent written communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of website content management systems
  • Proficiency in Canva or a similar image editing design software and an eye for design.
  • Understanding of social media for business, especially LinkedIn.
  • Self-motivated and organised, with an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.
