Maths Teacher
  • Location: Haywards Heath, West Sussex
  • Job Type: Full-time on a long term supply basis, to start September 2024

We are looking for a dedicated Maths Teacher to join our team at a supportive alternative provision in Haywards Heath. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to KS3/4 students, with a focus on those with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan and deliver individualised education programmes tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to both students and parents.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including learning support assistants and other teachers, to maximise student outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and support to students with emotional and behavioural needs, ensuring a nurturing learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and development.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement techniques and collaborating with the team to develop and implement effective strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Science to KS3/4 students.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Proven ability to manage classroom behaviour and support students’ emotional and behavioural development.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
