The Role:

Starting ASAP, this specialist school in Merton is looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher who is experienced in working with students with ASD and other communication needs. This is an exciting opportunity to teach and inspire students across both primary and secondary levels, delivering engaging Maths lessons adapted to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated Math's lessons tailored to the needs of students with ASD and associated communication needs.
  • Work with primary and secondary students to support their learning and help them achieve their full potential.
  • Utilise innovative and evidence-based teaching strategies to engage students in Math's.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and progress.
  • Assess and track student progress, adapting lesson plans and strategies to ensure all students are supported effectively.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and SEN support staff.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and school activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a background in teaching Math's.
  • Experience working with students with ASDand other communication needs.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies and approaches for students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
