Matron

We are seeking a Matron to join the Housekeeping team for a private boarding school in Pangbourne. Working alongside the Housemistress and Assistant Housemaster, you will be responsible for the supervision and care of pupils in their division. The position will be to start as soon as possible and will be for 6 - 8 weeks.

• Location: Pangbourne
• Working Hours: 8am - 5.30pm, Mon, Tues, Thurs / 8am - 4.30pm, Wed & Fri
• Salary: £12.50 - £14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
• Temporary: 6 - 8 weeks

You will need to have good interactive skills with the pupils, parents, and guardians by being a good listener, flexible in outlook, reliable, warm and friendly in disposition, with sufficient sensitivity to demonstrate tact and diplomacy.

As well as being responsible for the health, dress, and general well being of pupils, you will also be responsible for the housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry.

The successful person will have the following related skills / experience:

• Calm, warm, and kind manner
• Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and staff
• Sufficient sensitivity to demonstrate tact and diplomacy
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure
• Punctual and reliable
• Current driving licence is essential for this position
• Previous experience of working within education would be an advantageous but not essential.
