• Full time, permanent
• £38,000 per annum negotiable DoE, based on 40 hours per week (flexible hours are available)
• Overtime paid at time and a half

The role:

Due to retirement, an excellent opportunity for a HGV Mechanic has arisen. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining their diverse fleet of commercial vehicles. You'll ensure all vehicles are safe, efficient, and compliant with current regulations, contributing to the smooth operation of services.

Key responsibilities:

• Repair company vehicles safely and efficiently
• Maintain good housekeeping to meet Health & Safety standards
• Ensure all jobs are completed correctly and on time
• Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly
• Use all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Communicate effectively with the Fleet Services Manager and Operations team
• Flexibility for shift patterns
• Perform vehicle inspections
• Conduct defect repairs
• Carry out vehicle servicing
• Provide reactive maintenance
• Prepare vehicles for PMIs and MOTs
• Weekend working would be Saturday and Sunday day shifts (when required) in line with operational needs

About you:

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and experienced mechanic with a strong background in HGV servicing. You will also have:

• Class C+E / HGV Class 2 driving license preferred
• Previous industry experience
• Comprehensive understanding of commercial HGV vehicle servicing
• Full industry-recognised qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Passionate about the automotive industry and proactive in problem-solving
