Piper Maddox is working with an innovative start-up that is developing a novel battery-solar system to power refrigeration units in the logistics sector. The mission of the business is to combat the 50,000,000 tonnes of yearly CO2 emissions from refrigerated trailers. They have been operating for over four years now and have developed a product that is almost ready to start being sold to customers. As part of their growth, they are currently seeking several Mechanical Design Engineers on a contract basis. These contracts are outside IR35 and will be 40 hours per week.

What you will be doing:

* Delivering Mechanical design work packages using SolidWorks
* Implement design and industry standards to ensure an efficient, safe and reliable
* Collaborating with other Engineering teams to ensure cohesive product development
* Proactively seek improvements and implementation of new technologies to ensure the company retains its technology competitiveness

What we are looking for:

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Automotive, Aerospace or Marine sectors
* Proficient in CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)
* Ability to use hand calculations and FEA practices to verify designs
* Familiarity with working within highly regulated environments
