Are you a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for managing diverse and complex projects? Join our team as a Mechanical Design Engineer and lead the charge in delivering cutting-edge industrial control installations, sophisticated electromechanical systems, and advanced automatic test equipment.

This is a customer facing role where you will oversee both small and large projects, ensuring their successful completion. From full industrial control installations to intricate electromechanical systems, your expertise will drive projects from concept to realization.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will develop quotes, project plans, and budgets, and manage technical and commercial issues for customers, escalating to management as necessary. You'll oversee the engineering process through the tollgate system and perform design work as required.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include estimating, planning, and writing quotes, as well as identifying customer needs and translating them into effective solutions. You'll design mechanical structures, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, and create 2D and 3D models. Leading design review meetings, planning and managing project resources, and communicating effectively with regular status reports will be crucial. Additionally, you'll identify and escalate technical and commercial risks to management, prepare quality control and testing documents, and develop manufacturing planning documents.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects in a collaborative and innovative work environment. We offer professional growth and development opportunities to help you advance your career.

Benefits include:

* Competitive salary
* Life Insurance
* 25 days holiday (33 including bank holidays)
* Defined Contribution Pension
* Bonus Schemes
* Virtual GP (24/7 access)

Skills Required:

To excel in this role, you should be proficient in designing mechanical parts and assemblies from first principles, and have a solid understanding of electronics and electrical systems. The ability to produce detailed drawings and documentation for complex systems is essential, as is accurate estimating for engineering projects. Strong communication skills are a must for interacting with customers, colleagues, managers, and suppliers. Expertise in CAD design, preferably with AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D, and knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic controls are also important. Finally, the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously will help you thrive in our challenging and interesting work environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for someone with a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, and several years of professional experience in mechanical design (ideally using AutoCAD 2D & Solid Works 3D). Proven project management experience is also required.
