Mechanical Design Engineer - Defence Industry
Location: Colchester
Salary: Up to £40,000

Prime Appointments is working with a global manufacturer in the defence industry, seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Colchester. This well-established company specialises in the design, testing, certification, and manufacturing of high-quality products for defence applications.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

  • Design and develop new products, ensuring compliance with technical specifications

  • Create accurate 3D CAD models and manufacturing-ready designs

  • Prepare and present project progress reports in monthly engineering reviews

  • Develop technical documentation, including Design FMEA, Product Risk Analysis, and Technical Specifications

  • Ensure all designs and processes comply with quality standards and industry regulations

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum four years of experience in an HVAC or mechanical engineering environment

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software

  • Experience in product development and delivery projects

  • Knowledge of software and programming is an advantage

  • HNC/Degree in Engineering or equivalent
