Mechanical Engineer Heat Networks

Panoramic Associates are working with a Local Authority in London in the appointment of a Mechanical Engineer to join the team.

Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: London (Hybrid: 3 days on-site)
Contract: 6 months initial contract
Rate: £250-£350 per day

Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and technically adept Mechanical Engineer with a passion for sustainable energy solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on heating systems and heat networks, contributing to the design, installation, and management of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Heat Networks: Develop a basic understanding of heat networks and their operations.
• Mechanical Design: Assist in preparing mechanical designs for communal heating replacement works.
• Project Management: Support senior engineers in project management tasks for mechanical installation retrofit projects.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare project programs and write technical reports with guidance from senior engineers.
• Problem Solving: Creatively solve engineering design and maintenance-related problems.
• Contract Administration: Assist with contract administration skills to support the programming and delivery of projects.
• Value Engineering: Ensure projects are delivered cost-effectively by undertaking value engineering exercises throughout.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of heat networks.
• Experience working on Heating systems and an understanding of heat networks
• Experience in preparing mechanical designs and assisting in project management.
• Ability to prepare project programs and technical reports.
• Creative problem-solving skills in engineering design and maintenance.
• Understanding of contract administration and project delivery.
