H9 Technical Recruitment are hiring for a Mechanical Engineer to work at our clients EfW facility in Belvedere, Kent to be responsible for supporting the development of the strategic elements and resilience of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Engineering Manager in assisting in the development of sites mechanical engineering strategies for 6 months +
  • Planning, developing and leading planned site outages and taking the lead in major projects
  • Develop specifications for long term service agreements and maintenance contracts for the site
  • Assist in the development upkeep and review of maintenance strategies and best practices for the site
  • Managing contracts and supervising on site contractors ensuring site compliance at all times
  • To contribute to the preparation, maintenance and submission of the annual planned outage and CapEx budget

Skills & Qualifications

  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification at Degree/HNC level or similar
  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a mechanical engineering function in the power generation sector or similar (steel, chemical etc. Grads with 2 years of post-study experience will also be considered with the opportunity to develop in the role
  • A thorough understanding of engineering and maintenance principles associated with rotating and static plant found on an EFW plant including turbines, boilers, pumps, compressors, water treatment plant etc.
  • A good understanding of power generation legislation such as PUWER, LOLER, PSSR etc
