We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join our team in Halifax, on a full-time permanent basis.

Position: Mechanical Engineering Lecturer
Location: Halifax Area
Salary: Up to £40,795
Pension: 23.68%
Annual Leave: 47 days + 8 Bank Holidays + Christmas Shutdown (Approx. 65 days annually)

About the Role: As a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education and training to apprentices and study program participants. You will be responsible for nurturing students' skills and knowledge in a variety of workshop practices, ranging from Level 2 to Level 3. Your expertise will cover essential workshop skills, including machining, milling, turning, lathe operations, handfitting, and introductory CNC operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that inspire and motivate students.
  • Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on training in workshop environments.
  • Support the development of apprentices and students, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Design and implement innovative teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and maintain educational standards.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes inclusivity and diversity.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive industry experience in machining, milling, turning, lathe operations, and CNC.
  • Previous teaching or training experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
