An excellent opportunity for an Experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established company based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

The Company:

Established in 2001 on the Wirral and is a market leader in the manufacture and supply of specific agricultural machinery for both national and international requirements. About the Role:

Time-served Mechanical Fitter to assemble various sized sub-components post manufacture and surface treatment, into final assemblies for our various Machine Ranges.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that Health, safety and quality standards are complied with, including the specific duties under them.
  • Evaluate and interpret Technical Drawings, Sketches and other data used in the preparation of the product to be assembled.
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle.
  • Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks.
  • Highlight and communicate any minor faults which may arise, and which may cause delay to production.
  • Ensure all operating conditions are safe and suitable before commencing the assembly process.
  • Ensure work is carried out to tolerances and requirements as stated on Drawings and Manufacturing Instructions.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly production and any other operational data as requested by Department Team-Leader and or Operations Manager.
  • Operation of Hydraulic Power Pack for the commissioning of finished units.
  • Manual handling training. Lifting & Slinging training and FLT - Advantageous.
  • Ensuring low stock levels are reported to team-Leader and maintained.

Candidate Requirements:

· Be an excellent team player with attention to detail, be self-motivated and the ability to work under pressure, whilst being efficient, productive, and meeting production deadlines - Essential.

  • Report to Assembly Department Team-Leader.
  • Have previous factory production experience - Essential.
  • Experience working with Steel fabrications - Essential.
  • Have JIG work experience - Advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in MIG Welding - Advantageous but not essential
  • Be able to read and interpret technical drawings and Manufacturing Instructions - Essential.
  • Have experience in the assembly of Hydraulic Pipework / Hoses, Hydraulic Motors and Manifolds - Essential.
  • Have good knowledge of workshop tools and machinery; including Band Saw and Pedestal Drill - Advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications:

  • Time Served: Minimum of City & Guilds or equivalent - Technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3
  • 5 x GCSE or equivalent - Advantageous but not essential.

Company Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: Starting salary £14.13 per hour for Tier 1.

Tier 2 £15.32 Tier 3 £16.50

  • Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 08.00 - 17.00. Includes 2 x 15-minute breaks and 30-minute lunch break

Friday 08.00 - 13.00. Includes 1 x 15-minute morning break

This is a full-time position subject to 3 Months Probationary - Permanent thereafter once completed probation period.
