DCT Recruitment are currently looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Plant Fitter based in Birmingham. Working on temp to perm basics. Our client is a leading player in the Plant Repair and Maintenance sector is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join team.
About the Role: As a Mechanical Plant Fitter, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heavy plant and machinery. You will be responsible for a range of tasks including regular maintenance work, workshop repairs, and responding to breakdown call-outs. Your expertise will keep our operations running efficiently, minimising downtime and ensuring safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities: •Maintenance: Perform regular on site or workshop maintenance on a wide range of heavy plant and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. •Repairs: Carry out workshop repairs, including diagnosing and fixing mechanical faults. •Breakdown Response: Attend to breakdowns swiftly and effectively, reducing downtime and keeping operations on track. •Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in line with company safety policies and procedures. •Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
What We’re Looking For: •Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical Plant Fitter, preferably in a similar industrial environment. •Technical Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of plant machinery. •Problem-Solving: Quick thinker with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues under pressure. •Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills. •Flexibility: Willingness to respond to breakdowns and call-outs, sometimes outside of regular working hours.
