Membership and Events Co-Ordinator

My client, a leading organisation based in Belfast are currently recruiting for a Membership and Events Co-Ordinator.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent Position.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week (standard 9am-5pm with flexible working. Working outside of standard working hours will be required when events are on)

Salary: £29,950.26

Hybrid working: Office based two days a week

Job Role:

To support the personal and professional development of members through the engagement of member communities, delivery of member initiatives and providing a comprehensive programme of continuing professional development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent Experience and Knowledge
  • Experience of developing and delivering events
  • Experience of working with committees
  • Experience of producing event budgets and monitoring costs
  • Competence in use of IT packages and CRM systems
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and prioritising own work
  • Experience of developing event plans
  • Experience in communications and marketing events
  • Experience of securing funding for events and projects, for example through sponsorship
  • Knowledge of professional and/or membership organisations and their workings (desirable) Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with personnel at all levels including customers/clients
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Methodical and well-organised
  • Attention to detail
  • Good at networking
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Proven ability to work without supervision
  • Initiative and flair in designing materials and events
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a changing environment
  • Project management skills
  • Driver’s licence and access to a car

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Officers, leads and members to develop, organise and deliver an agreed rolling programme of clinical and non-clinical continued professional development. This includes the delivery of in-person and online events.
  • Scope any opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver online and in-person events to members.
  • Understand requirements for each event and plan the event with attention to financial and time constraints.
  • Cover all practicalities of executing in-person events, such as large conferences, meetings and award ceremonies.
  • Initiate and attend meetings, online and in-person with key stakeholders across Northern Ireland.
  • Work closely with the membership team in London to promote general practice as a career to undergraduate students, liaising with the NI Undergraduate Champions and local education leads.
  • Work with Associates in Training (AiTs) to maximise any opportunities for promoting general practice as a career.
  • Work with later career and retired members to maximise any opportunities to support workload and mentoring.
  • Work with colleagues at a local and national level to ensure effective and timely communications with members.
  • Lead on general day to day enquiries on membership.
