Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating Mental Health Review Tribunals, Section Renewals and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, this will see you help to prepare and arrange paperwork to support the meetings, with the support of the Mental Health Act Manager.

Within this role you will also supervise the financial administration of the unit’s Client Fund Account, petty cash float and safety deposit facility through the effective and efficient application of local procedures and processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Having knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act and any subsequent legislation
  • Ensuring that invoicing of patients enhanced support is completed and submitted to head office
  • Managing the deposit of cash, cheques and other receipts and the withdrawal of funds required to sustain a substantial petty cash float.
  • Regularly liaises with patients, their families and carers to identify financial needs and entitlements, and then liaise with the social worker so that they can provide assistance and information to enable patients to claim statutory benefits and to access personal banking facilities.
  • Assisting the social worker with the accurate and timely completion, processing and monitoring of the DoLS paperwork
  • Ensuring patients, their relatives, legal representatives and official agencies are provided with the information and documentation required to effect the detention, registration and admission of an individual under the provisions of the MHA.
  • Organising and services all associated meetings ensuring the effective and timely production, collation and distribution of reports, minutes and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensuring that all information and documentation is correctly processed in line with policies and procedures in order that regulatory and statutory requirements are met. Maintains the audit trail ensuring up to date and accurate information can be provided or accessed as required.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act and any subsequent legislation
  • Experience within a similar environment
  • Great communication skills
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office applications

Location: Howitts Lane, Eynesbury, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 2JA

St Neots provides assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and complex care for both male and female patients suffering from a broad range of neurological conditions e.g. Huntington’s disease, an acquired or traumatic brain injury, frontotemporal dementia or functional disorders and is provided by a highly experienced team based on site.
