An amazing school in Oxford are recruiting for a Mental Health Assistant to join their staff in providing high quality, continuous support to their students. The school specialise in students who have Complex Learning Disabilities as well as significant Mental, Social and Emotional Needs and would love to welcome a Mental Health Assistant to work on a 1-1 basis with students who would benefit from extra concentrated support throughout the school day. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with children who have display challenging behaviour and have mental health difficulties. This experience will give the candidate a better understanding of how to effectively communicate, regulate and advocate for children in the SEN community.
The school are looking for a committed, confident and well-educated candidate to take on the role of Mental Health Assistant and bring enthusiasm and empathy into the classroom. Ideally, the successful applicant will have excellent behaviour management skills, education surrounding Special Educational Needs and experience in either a professional or home environment. The Mental Health Assistant will have the opportunity to gain professional experience working along qualified therapists, behaviour consultants and psychologists which could kick-start their entrance into the industry.
