One of our leading NHS clients is looking for experienced mental health nurses to cover shifts in the acute hospitals in London.

Description:

The Mental Health Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health care to patients experiencing mental health issues. This role involves assessing, planning, and delivering care to meet the psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients, while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Assessments: Evaluate mental health needs and create care plans.
  • Administer Medications: Manage and monitor prescribed medications.
  • Provide Therapeutic Support: Deliver interventions like counseling and CBT.
  • Handle Crises: Respond to mental health emergencies and develop safety plans.
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate patient records and communicate with the care team.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Requires at least 12 months of post-registration NHS experience.
  • Holding an ILS certificate would be desirable.
  • Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Honesty and integrity, and a caring patient-centered approach.
