We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Care Assistant to work within an acute mental health inpatient unit based in Barrow-in-Furness. The mixed gender bedded unit provides treatment and support for adults with mental health needs (including adults with learning difficulties who are suffering from mental health problems).

This role is fully flexible allowing you to work around any commitments. promoting a healthy work life balance.

SHIFTS: Available Monday to Sunday


SHIFT PATTERNS: Earlies: 0730-1500 Lates: 1230-2030 Long Days: 0730-2030 Nights: 2000-0800 Twilights: 1600-0000


SPECIALISMS: Acute Adult Mental Health, Learning Difficulties


The Role:

  • Monitor and record patients' physical and emotional well-being.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Ensure the safety of patients by observing them and implementing safety protocols.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in crisis intervention.


The Person

  • 12 months minimum experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a residential or inpatient setting.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
