Metallographic Technician

We’re looking for an experienced Metallographic Technician for our market leading manufacturing business based in West Yorkshire. We’re looking for an experienced Metallographic Technician responsible for conducting a range of metallographic assessments – micro/macro structure analysis, grain size & alpha case within titanium, nickel & steels.

Reporting to the Test House Manager, as Metallographic Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting a range of metallographic assessments - micro/macro structure analysis, grain size & alpha case within titanium, nickel and steels.
• Conduct failure and non-conformance investigations.
• Complete reports for data interpretation and assist with developments of new metallographic techniques with an overall aim to widen the laboratory’s scope of approvals.

The Metallographic Technician will be/have:

• Educated to A level standard in a science based subject or suitably experienced in a laboratory environment.
• An understanding of ISO/IEC17025 within a laboratory environment.
• Proactive approach to health and safety.
• Working knowledge and experience in the application and function of microscopy and metallography.
