Metering Technician - (temporary contract initially for 12 weeks - then reviewed)
  • Annual Salary: £27,453 + potential on-target earnings
  • Location: Bedford (Candidates need to be located within 30 minutes of this location)
  • Job Type: Full-time - 37 hours per week - Flexible hours between of 6:30 to 20:00, including some hours on a Saturday when required to meet customer needs

As a Water Metering Technician, you’ll enjoy the independence of managing your own workload with the backing of a well-established organisation. This role is ideal for those who are customer-focused and enjoy being active throughout the day.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Obtain accurate readings from water meters.
  • Carry out meter exchanges (comprehensive training provided).
  • Collect meter data efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a professional image at all times.
  • Walk between 3 to 8 miles per day as part of your routine.
  • Use a handheld computer to log work, requiring basic IT skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in retail or hospitality is advantageous, particularly roles that involve being on your feet.
  • Strong focus on delivering customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to present a professional image (uniform and van will be provided).
  • Physical fitness to manage the demands of walking several miles daily.
  • Basic IT skills to operate handheld devices for work purposes.
