Allen Lane is delighted to be supporting the London Borough of Ealing in their search for a Senior Microsoft Technical Specialist to lead a team and drive the adoption and development of Ealing’s Microsoft platform and it’s interaction with other key platforms. You’ll advise on innovation, best practice support, implementation and functionality of the platform. Please note this is a hybrid role with 2 days per week required in the office.

The role

As a Senior Microsoft Technical Specialist you will:

  • Lead on all work relating to the M365 platform including : Exchange online, Teams, Sharepoint, Azure, Intune, Identity and Access Management
  • Lead a team of engineers ensuring monitoring and maintenance of the service is kept up to standard.
  • Keep up to date with new and emerging technology, making recommendations on changes
  • Assess and champion the use of Microsoft’s entire platform, e.g. Power platform, Data and API - as replacements for existing processes where relevant
  • Ensure consistency in approach to support M365 environments,
  • Ensure essential security standards and best practice for data protection are in place, in particular focussing on the key requirements from the Public Services Network.
  • Anticipate future impact to the Council, based on Microsoft announcements and observed industry trends.

Key skills Required

As a Senior Microsoft Technical Specialist you will have:

  • A proven track record of delivering simple user acceptance plans, functional and non-functional plans
  • Significant experience with : -Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune (End Point Manager), Windows 10 and Windows 11, Server Infrastructure: Server 2016/2019/2022, Microsoft Admin portals, Administration of the entire MS suite, including Teams, Office365, Exchange Online and SharePoint
  • Demonstrable experience in building and releasing patching schedules and planning multiple interdependent changes or complex releases
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
