Role Overview:As a Mixed Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse client portfolio, providing both corporate and personal tax services. You will act as the main point of contact for your clients, delivering high-quality advisory and compliance services while managing a small team of junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:Manage a mixed portfolio of clients, including private individuals, family-owned businesses, and corporate entities, providing both corporate tax and personal tax services.
Provide advisory services on corporate tax planning, inheritance tax (IHT), capital gains tax (CGT), trust planning, and business succession planning.
Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the latest tax legislation.
Lead and oversee tax compliance work, including corporate tax returns, self-assessment and capital gains tax returns for individuals, and other business-related tax obligations.
Manage a team of junior tax professionals, providing mentoring and development opportunities, reviewing their work, and providing technical support as required.
Stay up to date with tax legislation changes and ensure clients receive proactive, tailored tax advice.
Handle HMRC correspondence, including managing inquiries, tax investigations, and dispute resolution.
ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification or equivalent, with strong technical knowledge of both corporate and personal tax.
Experience in managing a mixed tax portfolio, with a track record of delivering both advisory and compliance services.
Strong understanding of tax planning, including corporate structures, IHT, CGT, and trusts.
Previous experience in managing a small team or supervising junior staff.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and senior colleagues.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with tax software, including CCH, IRIS, or similar tools, is desirable.
