Our MOJ Portal File Handlers will be pivotal in the portal settlement process by obtaining, reviewing, and finalising medical evidence on admitted cases to drive lucrative settlements. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise on difficult Portal cases enabling key decisions to be made on settlement offers.

This is a remote role; however, we believe that for good employee engagement and to maintain our fantastic culture, it is important to meet face-to-face with our employees, so we ask everyone to attend communication events and team meetings that take place at our head office in Kettering around once a quarter. In addition, every 6 weeks there will be team meetings off-site (usually Stockport/Manchester).

MOJ Personal Injury File Handler Responsibilities:

  • Drive the settlement of admitted cases that sit in the portal
  • Manage Client calls, offering up-to-date information and next-step guidance
  • Obtain medical evidence and review within the agreed SLA
  • Finalise medical evidence to share with the defendant
  • Progress multi-medical cases in a timely and effective manner to reduce impact of Limitation cases requiring a stay
  • Review full details of the claim to make considered offers
  • Assess defendant's offers, concluding how to proceed
  • Draft correspondence to steer the claim to conclusion
  • Draft settlement packs to drive strong offers from the other side
  • Work individually and as part of a team to meet and exceed targets
  • Evaluate potential drop-outs, concluding how to proceed quickly and effectively
  • Draft and subsequently handle all pre-action-disclosure applications
  • Prepare cases for issue, with subsequent hand-off to the litigation team
  • Submit all applications and complete all reviews promptly and accurately, in line with operational KPIs
  • Confidently and clearly relay information to the consumer, adhering to high customer service standards
  • Work individually and as part of a team to meet and exceed targets

MOJ Personal Injury File Handler Requirements:

  • Experience of MOJ Portal
  • Understand PI processes, including medical valuations and part 36 offers
  • Able to issue Stage 3 Proceedings quickly and Pro-actively to achieve best settlement outcomes for clients
  • Settle Infant Cases and issue for IAH in a timely an pro-active manner
  • Strong negotiator, able to persuade and influence others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Analyse and interpret information to make decisions
  • Strong IT competence using multiple systems interchangeably
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle a case-load of admitted claims up to £25k with more complex issues that may need multi-medical reports
  • Proven ability to handle own caseload, adhering to strict SLAs
  • Ability to manage risk and make commercially sound decisions
