Morgan Hunt are recruiting motor mechanics for a large public sector client based in Irvine. The role is a motor mechanic position, assisting in maintaining the clients fleet of vehicles.

The role involves servicing, inspection and repairs of any faults or defects in the clients range of utility vehicles as well as light and heavy vehicles, plant and power engines.

The right candidates must:

  • Be time served mechanics and/or qualified to a minimum of city and guilds standard
  • Hold a current, valid, driving license covering categories B, C1 and D1. Other categories are desirable.
  • Be prepared to work biweekly shift pattern
  • Able to work on their own initiative and solve problems

Candidates must be experienced in:

  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing
  • Maintaining and inspecting a range of mobile and static plant and attachments
  • Diagnostic analysis of vehicle defects
  • Completing service and repair vehicle worksheets
  • Experience in maintenance of road gritting and bin lifting equipment, maintenance and inspection of hydraulic systems is also desirable

The role is a temporary ongoing contract that could last 18 months for the right person

The shift patterns are as follows;

Monday to Friday: 6:30am to 14:30pm or 10:00am - 18:00pm

Saturday (Optional Overtime): 7:30am - 11:30am (Workload based)
