Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated individual with experience in driving/logistics to join our fast-growing passive fire protection company. This full-time role operates from our office and warehouse facility in Brentwood, with deliveries to construction sites in Greater London and the Southeast of England.
Role Details:
Position: Driver
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week), 6 am - 3 pm, Monday - Friday
Salary: £26,000
Vehicle: LWB van (no truck/HGV driving)
Reports to: Warehouse/Logistics Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently drive company vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules for timely deliveries.
- Load vehicles with equipment and materials based on delivery notes; collect excess materials, equipment, and waste for returning to the warehouse.
- Deliver and unload at sites.
- Maintain and update accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery/collection notes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery logistics.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
Additional Duties:
- Assist the Warehouse/Logistics Manager in maintaining the warehouse in a clean and safe manner.
- Receive goods into the warehouse and check the condition of goods and equipment.
- Ensure the assigned vehicle is adequately maintained and inspections are completed.
- Interact with client site management, supplier logistics staff, and internal team members.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Previous experience as a driver, preferably in a delivery or van driver role.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures is a plus.
- Experience with logistics and deliveries is advantageous, but full training and support will be provided.
- Valid driver's license is essential.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and loading/unloading of cargo.
- Familiarity with the Greater London road network is beneficial.
