Multi-Skilled Engineer
Location: Beccles
Salary: Up to £43,500
Hours of Work: 8-hour Double Day Shift (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm) Monday to Friday

About the Role:
Select Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer on behalf of our client, a dynamic and growing company in Beccles. This role involves comprehensive maintenance tasks, focusing primarily on autonomous and preventive maintenance programs, as well as handling breakdowns. You will also support continuous improvement (C.I.) projects and refurbishments as needed. Ensuring machine safety systems and adherence to safe working practices are key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the team to maximise productivity and resolve issues alongside the Shift Engineer.
  • Deliver sustainable preventative maintenance and an efficient breakdown service for operational equipment.
  • Implement and adhere to a program of preventative and autonomous maintenance.
  • Respond reactively to breakdowns as directed by the shift team leader.
  • Approach all tasks with a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Complete all tasks following relevant work procedures and standards.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to engineering team leaders.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working area in accordance with site BRC and 6S standards, while being mindful of health and safety requirements.
  • Work independently and as part of a team in both planned and emergency breakdown situations.
  • Adhere to company safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Alert management of significant changes to business risks and internal controls.
  • Notify management and/or Human Resources immediately of any breaches in policy or procedure.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Educated to GCSE Grade 4/C level or above.
  • Qualified in at least one core discipline (Electrical or Mechanical) with a strong understanding of the other.
  • Experience in maintenance and refurbishment of production equipment.
  • Knowledge of the plastics manufacturing industry (desirable).
  • Engineering background with strong mechanical aptitude.
