About the Team

Surrey Adult Learning is part of the Children's, Families and Lifelong Learning Directorate and has 7 dedicated centres in Surrey. It delivers 850 courses comprising both a published course programme and a set of bespoke courses that are designed to meet the needs of individual groups of adults in the community.

Surrey County Council, supported by our partners, is part of the Department for Education's (DfE) large-scale, 3-year adult numeracy programme, called 'Multiply'. This supports our overarching strategic ambition that 'No one is left behind', by aiming to ensure that adults with low levels of numeracy skills, who would benefit from targeted support, can be engaged and supported in inventive new ways. We are now in the third year of programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring together education, commissioning, and economy and growth, working with residents, businesses / employers, established education providers, the voluntary and community sector, Local Enterprise Partnerships and more, to deliver a programme that will create meaningful change in the lives of people in Surrey while ensuring our local economy has the skills it needs to grow.

About the Role

In the position of Multiply ILR Officer you will engage with the council's delivery partners to collect and collate data required to submit Individualised Learner Record (ILR) files to the Department of Education. This will include ensuring that compliant data is output from providers' own Learner Management Systems or supporting and training smaller providers to develop solutions to collect data and create ILRs.

You will also support the Multiply Partnership Manager and Multiply Project Manager to identify and address noncompliance issues and to compile KPI, progress and forecast reports.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Prior experience of data collection in the education sector, ideally with the Tribal ebs Learner Management System (LMS) and the ESFA's ILR Entry Tool
  • In-depth knowledge and proven, prior experience collecting and validating the data necessary to prepare and submit Individualised Learner Record (ILR) returns
  • Prior experience working the PDSAT and FIS tools
  • Proven ability to analyse and evaluate and raw data, and to present and disseminate management information using a variety of platforms
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
