Our client are a large multinational run organisation, who have been established and trading successfully for well over 50 years. They have built a strong brand, a regular customer base within their industry and they are very successful at what they. Due to growth and a team restructure they are now looking to hire a Mechanically Biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering Team.

Your responsibilities a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • You will carry out fault diagnosis and repair Manual Handling Equipment and repair, maintain and inspect all plant equipment, Conveyors, Heavy Duty Pumps, Packaging Machines, Silo’s and high speed processing and material handling machines, Heavy mixing machines, Motors, Gear boxes
  • You will fault find on PLC’s (Inputs & Outputs)
  • You will have a proven track record with TIG, MIG & Arc welding, Piping & Fabrication.
  • You will ensure PPM servicing schedules are followed in accordance with company requirements
  • Inspect and service all, Plant & Production machinery and equipment in line with OEM minimum standards.
  • Carry out Plant safety inspections in line with group fleet policy
  • Conduct daily duties in a safe working manner whilst adhering to (QHSE) obligations under the Health & Safety at work ACT 1974 and follow the code of safe working practice in the work place.
  • Report any unsafe acts, hazards, defective equipment to your safety advisor and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

You have technical skills / qualifications and a proven track record in the following:

  • BTEC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Have an IPAF & FLT Accreditation
  • Have a Confined working space Accreditation
  • Conveyors, High Speed processing machinery, Belts, Motors
  • Have a proven track record with Diesel Engines, Gearboxes and Braking systems & Generators
  • Have a proven track record with Pneumatic, ARC, MIG & TIG Welding, Hydraulics, Electrical Motors, Silo’s, Mixers
  • Possess personal basic engineering tool kit (Spanners, sockets, screwdrivers etc.).
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good Communication Skills


Salary & Benefits

  • Rotating Weekly Shift Pattern Mon -Fri (6am to 2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am)
  • Salary £48 - £51k + OT (1.5x & 2x) + 15 % Shift allowance when working nights.
