Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate Music Teacher for a college located in Birmingham’s Digbeth area. The role involves covering two different classes, one evening course focused on music production for adults and another for Level 3 students covering music theory. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in their musical journey.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach an evening course on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6-9pm, focusing on music production, studio recording, and music composition for adult learners. This course is required until Christmas.
  • Conduct classes for Level 3 students on Mondays from 1-4:15pm, covering C7 Music Theory.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ creativity and passion for music.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A recognised Teaching Qualification.
  • Level 3 or above in a Music-related qualification.
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory and production.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels.
