.NET Migration Developer

Position:Senior Software Developer (Contract)

Project Duration: 9 months (High chance of being extended)

Working arrangement:Remote

Overview: I am seeking a skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team for the migration of a cash management software product to .NET 8. In this role, you will support our Senior Contract Architect Developer in transitioning a system from .NET Framework to .NET 8, including updating front-end and back-end components, ensuring compatibility, and implementing modern .NET practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in migrating the Cash Management Software product from .NET Framework to .NET 8.
• Update project configurations and convert Entity Framework components to EF Core.
• Support integration of dependency injection (Autofac) and manage ASP.NET Core pipeline changes.
• Update and maintain front-end components using Telerik and KendoUI.
• Migrate WCF/SOAP services to CoreWCF and update authentication mechanisms.
• Contribute to unit and integration tests and aid in Docker containerization for Windows and Linux.

Required Skills:

• Extensive experience with .NET development, particularly .NET Core and .NET 8.
• Strong knowledge of ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, and EF Core.
• Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks, front-end frameworks (Telerik, KendoUI), and WCF/SOAP services.
• Proven experience in migration projects from older .NET frameworks to .NET Core/8.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern testing frameworks.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ASP.NET Identity and modern logging frameworks.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and previous experience with large-scale enterprise applications.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work remotely with a flexible schedule.
• Immediate availability to start and commit to the project duration.
