About the Role

Base Location: Flexible UK | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around the UK.

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent  | Full Time  | Flexible First options available

You will lead our work facilitating the views and input of our key stakeholders to ensure we co-create a Net Zero transition that works for our communities a. Pivotal to this is the need to build and maintain strong relationships with key regional stakeholders such as local authorities. In addition, you will act as a champion for whole system thinking promoting approaches across the DSO business.

Key responsibilities are;

- Developing and driving a clear stakeholder engagement strategy to ensure that the Whole Systems Team is delivering activities that are flexible enough to meet the needs of our internal and external stakeholders.

- Building meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing a single point of contact for enquiries relating to Whole Systems.

- Planning and managing Whole System stakeholder activities including webinars, conferences, roundtable discussions and other events that help us build these relationships.

- Producing and developing internal and external communications that promote the need for whole system approaches and showcase the work undertaken to facilitate the transition to Net Zero

- Working closely with the strategic development engineers to develop and deliver whole system outputs to a wide internal and external audience.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Energy sector experience, or experience working with local authorities / local stakeholders. 

- Awareness of Net Zero and local decarbonisation strategies.

- Sound understanding of principles of stakeholder engagement.

- Ability to develop strong relationships with key senior stakeholders.

- Strong presentational, oral and written communication skills.

- Experience in leading complex and ambiguous work.
