Network Engineer

Network Engineer – 3 - month contract.

My customer requires an experienced Network Engineer that will provide technical support and ensure high availability of Network and Server Infrastructure across all platforms.

The Network Engineer should have strong capabilities across Network, Security and Window server domains and be able to ensure smooth running of existing and new server and network infrastructure within the business.

This Network Engineer would have experience in supporting LAN/WAN technologies, VMware and Microsoft Server, Windows environments and supporting Cisco switches and network routing.

Primary day to day responsibilities will for the Network engineer will include:

• Previous experience as a Network Engineer focussing on Windows environments and Cisco routing and switching.
• Strong focus on Windows Server/VMWare and LAN/WAN technologies.
• Strong Cisco Networking skills (administration, configuration, and troubleshooting)
• Strong technical knowledge of Cisco routing and switching.
• Network patching skills (Fibre and Cat5e)
• TCP-IP/DHCP/DNS experience.
• VMWare environment (Configuration of network elements)
• Extensive experience of Windows and Active Directory and IP Networking
• Storage: Netapp, VMWare, and backups (Veeam)
• VLAN config, Wireless APs, and controllers – Support and maintenance
• Multisite environments: MPLS, SD-WAN
• Security/firewall experience: – Fortigate preferred (rules, upgrades, and troubleshooting)
• Strong experience with DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP
• Beneficial: Aerohive Wireless AP’s, Avaya/Nortel switches, Mitel systems
• Relevant Network Certifications (CCNA, CCNP etc)
• Relevant Microsoft Server Certified certifications

This Network engineer would be required to travel just outside Nottingham, 3 days a week onsite for the 3-month duration. The other 2 days would be work from home.
