We are recruiting for an experienced and proactive Account Executive to join a thriving commercial division based in Horsham. You’ll be part of a supportive team of 16 people, working in a hybrid pattern of two days in the office (Thursday plus either Monday or Wednesday) and three days from home. Occasional in-office training sessions will help support your ongoing development.
This role is focused heavily on new business development. Around 75% of your time will be dedicated to networking, building relationships, and raising your profile across the local corporate and commercial markets. You will be targeting larger clients, aiming to build a strong book of business with accounts generating an income of £2,500 and above. In addition, you will manage an existing commercial book of around £50,000, developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
You will have full responsibility for creating and executing marketing strategies, identifying new opportunities, and managing the end-to-end new business process. Success in this role will be recognised and rewarded, not only with a competitive basic salary but also with a 25% commission on any new business you generate. Additionally, there is a 7% company bonus paid annually, offering excellent earning potential for high performers.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in commercial insurance, ideally already operating at Account Executive level or ready to take the next step. You’ll need proven experience in generating your own business opportunities, managing high-value clients, and delivering exceptional service standards. The ability to cross-sell additional services and experience working alongside teams such as Employee Benefits, Risk Management, or Private Clients would be beneficial.
