An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual seeking to develop a career in finance within the NHS. This apprenticeship provides an excellent balance of practical NHS experience alongside structured learning towards the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard and AAT qualification.

About the Role:

The apprentice will gain valuable experience in NHS finance systems, supported by dedicated Finance Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recording and analysing financial data using spreadsheets and finance systems.
  • Assisting in posting accounting journals to reflect accurate financial positions.
  • Supporting monthly draft accounts preparation.
  • Handling queries from clinical and managerial staff.
  • Participating actively in training sessions and professional development activities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 5-9, including Maths and English.
  • Excellent keyboard and computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and collaboratively within a team.

Additional Information:

Applicants must be over 16 and have resided in the UK/EU for the past three years. Those already holding an AAT Level 3 or higher qualification are not eligible.
