NHS Programme Director - Freedom of Information (FOI) Turnaround

Location: South East

Rate: £300-350 per day

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Circa 6 months

MLC Partners are supporting a reputable NHS Trust who is seeking an experienced Interim Programme Lead to take charge of a critical initiative aimed at reducing a significant backlog of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing strong, effective leadership to a dedicated team tasked with processing and reducing the backlog of several hundred FOI requests.
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive project management plan to address the backlog within the 3-6 month timeframe.
  • Liaising with internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and efficient approach.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to prevent future backlogs and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Regularly track progress, identify bottlenecks, and adjust strategies to ensure timely completion of objectives.
  • Ensure all actions are in line with relevant legislation and NHS policies, maintaining the highest standards of data protection and confidentiality.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • NHS Experience
  • Proven track record in reducing FOI backlog, ideally within a healthcare setting
