About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Night CCTV Controller working on one of our most prestigious and iconic sites. Duties will mainly comprise of monitoring CCTV, resource allocation, staff distribution, control of security incidents, access control, responding to alarms, and answering the phones when required.

You will be working Monday to Sunday on a 4-day-on-4-day-off shift pattern, 19:00 to 07:00, 40.25 hours per week, on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
  • To monitor CCTV cameras throughout the Centre and report on activity.
  • To ensure that GDPR and CCTV codes of practice are strictly complied with.
  • To carry out duties in accordance with assignment instructions or as issued by Centre Management.
  • To make sure all daily, weekly, and monthly audits are completed.
  • To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the centre.
  • To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
  • To assist with the implementation of the Centre's Emergency Plan and Evacuation Strategy in the event of an emergency.
  • Ensure that all incidents are accurately recorded in the electronic daily occurrence book.
  • Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully to the centre procedures for contractor management.
  • Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Assist with enquiries from tenants and members the public when requested.
  • In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold an CCTV SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence and where necessary a valid SIA Security Licence.
  • To respond to any and all alarms (including fire and door access), ensuring thorough investigation and safe conclusion.
  • To operate and respond to all aspects of Control Room Operation including emergency response i.e. Fire and emergency alarm system.
  • Good levels of literacy required for the writing of reports and post incident communications.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Experience in the provision of security services in a busy Shopping centre environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate previous experience in working as a controller role within a busy Shopping Centre or similar operation.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent levels of customer service at all times and be able to communicate well at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
  • Well presented at all times.
  • Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.
  • Able to meet the requirements of BS7858 - Security vetting.

Essential

  • Valid SIA CCTV license.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor

Desirable

  • Operational experience within a Shopping Centre.
  • Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of H&S legislation. IOSHH Qualification.
  • Fire Marshall training.
  • First Aid at Work
  • Valid SIA Security/DS License
