NPD Manager / Development Chemist
Senior Development Chemist - FMCG - Birmingham
Opportunity for a Lead Formulation Chemist / NPD Manager for a market leading company south of Birmingham. We are looking for product development experience, ideally from within the household or personal care industry. This is highly respected company in the industry known for progressing their staff with excellent learning and development opportunities. This role will be initially managing one person as an NPD Manager but could also look at bringing in an Development Chemist.
Minimum requirements:
- Industrial formulation experience
- Household / personal care industry experience
- Working knowledge of surfactants and raw material functionality
- Familiar with analytical techniques would be ideal
- Good regulatory understanding
Responsibilities:
- Project / people management experience would be ideal
- Leading the team in the development of
- Ensuring all on pack claims are justified using agreed regulatory standards.
- Providing the business with monthly updates on the progress of all NPD projects.
- Ensuring that MSDS, COSHH data and SOP's are available before any technical product development task is undertaken in the lab.
- Review and update process and procedures in line with regulation.
- Ensuring all appropriate documentation is in place prior to the manufacture of any product.
- Collaborating with QC, Production as well as ither internal teams-
- Provide action plans for continuous product and process improvement.
- Regularly review formulation costs setting this in context with external benchmark product
- Spotting and following market trends
