Starting salary is £39,500 per annum

The Functional Assessor role involves utilising and enhancing your clinical skills and experience as well as offering a public service and supporting individuals’ claims for disability benefits allowance by assessing their eligibility.

This position is a combination of home and office working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week (09.00 - 17.00) so hybrid. Part time training and hours are also available.

The day-to-day activities of a Nurse Assessor allows you to utilise a combination of broad-based nursing, interpersonal skills, and a holistic approach.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide functional assessments which are then processed and passed to the Department of Work and Pensions. The practitioner group includes nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and doctors.

Daily tasks include conducting face to face meetings to carry out and document assessments in a report format on how a persons’ condition affects their daily life and work-related activities. The role is working towards defined targets within a clear and structured framework and within a team environment with strong leadership.

Using IT software programmes to support clinical decision making when undertaking file-work and examinations

You will have:

NMC pin with no restrictions on practice1-year recent broad-based medical experience with adultsInterpersonal skills and be adept at relationship building

To undertake a combination of telephone, video calls and face-to-face assessments of customers in relation to a variety of benefits
