Room Leader/Third in Charge

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working for a quality nursery based near Peterborough. They are looking for a Room Leader/Third in Charge and offer a competitive rate of pay and working within a friendly team with a management structure that allows room for progression – this is a fantastic opportunity for an already established Room Leader looking to take the next step!

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the running of a room/age group within the nursery
  • Must be able to take on Deputy duties in the absence of the Manager and Deputy.
  • To support the Manager and Deputy in all aspects of Nursery matters.
  • Work as part of the staff team and liaise between the staff and the Manager and Deputy.
  • To ensure the nursery complies with the Early Years Foundation Stage and Statutory Framework. Most ensure good practice and compliance with relevant statutory regulations, for example Health and Safety Law and Employment Law.
  • To cover Deputy duties should she be absent. Due to the seniority of the role, it is expected that the Room leader/3rd in charge will have a high level of attendance.
  • To display a high level of enthusiasm, loyalty and motivation and must adhere to the correct policies and ethos of the nursery
  • To ensure safety, care, welfare and happiness of the children in the Nursery.
  • To ensure all children have access to resources, equipment, activities and learning opportunities to reach their full development and potential
  • To be aware of any children with special needs (including special educational needs and disabilities) and to be proactive in ensuring appropriate action is taken to promote the welfare and development of those children within the nursery
  • To ensure that all adults working and looking after children in the nursery are able to put the appropriate procedures for Safeguarding of Children into practice
  • To meet parents’ reasonable needs as appropriate. They must ensure communication of policies and good practice to parents, and make sure they are aware of new developments.
