Job Title: Occupational Therapist - General Medical/Ortho Wards

Grade: Band 6

Trust: West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust

Location: Watford General Hospital, Vicarage Road, Watford, WD18 0HB

Ward/Dept: Occupational therapy Watford

Hours: Full time - 22.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm (flexible on days)

Pay Rates - Day: £19.01

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, to join the friendly and supportive Occupational therapy team in the inpatient therapy department at Watford General Hospital. This is a part-time post and would be ideal if you are an existing Band 6 Occupational therapist who is looking to specialise in Orthopaedics and surgical care.

Responsibilities of this job role

If you are successful in your application to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on the responsibilities outlined below - as well as those not included here, call today to discuss further:

  • You would have the unique opportunity to develop your specialist OT skills with complex trauma, Orthopaedics, acute surgical and amputee patients alongside a well-established multi-disciplinary team.
  • As part of the team, you will clinically manage a caseload, completing detailed assessment & treatments in Orthopaedic and Surgical specialities, with patients who have complex needs including trauma, Orthopaedics, acute surgery & amputees.
  • Discharge planning skills are key to this post, and you will need to be able to make timely decisions regarding transfer to community services and managing referrals to specialist units.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

HCPC Registered.

Degree in Occupational therapy or equivalent.

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
